St. Louis Hockey Community Mourns the Loss of Zach Pruss, Who Passed Away in a Tragic Car Accident
O’FALLON, Mo. — The O’Fallon community and the St. Louis-area hockey family are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Zachary “Zach” Pruss, a beloved son, brother, teammate, and friend who died in a tragic car accident early Sunday, July 19.
Zach’s passing has left family, friends, teammates, coaches, and members of the hockey community devastated as they remember a young man whose passion for the sport and kindness toward others made a lasting impact.
Zach was the cherished son of Johanna and Jason Pruss and the loving brother of Elle. To those closest to him, Zach was more than an athlete — he was a caring family member, a loyal friend, and someone who brought energy and positivity wherever he went.

“Spartan Hockey extends our heartfelt condolences to the Pruss family, Liberty Hockey, and CarShield Hockey on the heartbreaking loss of recent graduate Zach Pruss. Many of our players and alumni shared the ice with Zach as we played the Eagles.”
