Patrick Michael Noonan Remembered After Tragic Death at 17
OAK LAWN, Ill. — Family, friends, classmates, and the Oak Lawn community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Patrick Michael Noonan, a beloved 17-year-old whose life was tragically cut short following a car accident over the weekend.
A native of Chicago and a resident of Oak Lawn, Patrick was a student at Brother Rice High School, where he was known for his kindness, warm personality, and the positive impact he had on those around him. His passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends, classmates, and teachers.
According to his obituary, Patrick was the cherished son of Jim and Barbara (née Schoenecker) Noonan and the loving brother of Jimmy and Ella. He was the treasured grandson of Maureen and the late Jim Noonan and Mike and Noreen Schoenecker.
Patrick was also a devoted nephew to Matt (Kate) and Mike (Emily) Noonan, Darlene (Dan) Harris, Billy (Annie), Eddie (Crystal), and the late Donna Schoenecker. He is remembered as a caring cousin, loyal friend, and someone whose compassion touched everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Those who knew Patrick describe him as a young man with a bright future, a generous heart, and an infectious spirit. His ability to make others feel welcome and valued earned him countless friendships, and his absence will be deeply felt throughout the community.
As loved ones gather to celebrate his life, they are remembering not only the years Patrick lived but also the joy, laughter, and kindness he shared with others. His legacy will live on in the memories of those whose lives he enriched.
Instead of flowers, the Noonan family has requested that memorial contributions be made to The MuSic Movement, honoring Patrick’s memory through support of a cause that was meaningful to the family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, located at 10621 S. Kedvale, Oak Lawn, Illinois.
